Optimised energy management ensures enhanced operational efficiency and sustainability

Init helped Fredrikstad Innovasjonspark implement an advanced energy management system, optimising heating, ventilation, and energy usage for enhanced operational efficiency. and sustainability.

Fredrikstad Innovasjonspark, located in the Øra industrial area of Fredrikstad, serves as a vibrant hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and business development. The park is home to a diverse range of tenants, from startups to established firms and research institutions, working across sectors like technology, sustainability, creative industries, and industrial development.

As Fredrikstad Innovasjonspark continued to grow, the need for optimised energy management became crucial. To ensure that the park operated at peak efficiency, especially in heating and ventilation, the management team started looking for a solution that would not only modernise their systems – but significantly reduce energy waste, as well.

Aspiration

Creating a future-focused, energy-efficient innovation hub

Fredrikstad Innovasjonspark aimed to become a leader in energy efficiency by gaining complete control over their energy usage. With a growing number of businesses relying on their facilities, the park needed to ensure that its heating, ventilation, and energy systems were as efficient as possible. The goal was to implement a solution that would not only optimise energy consumption but also support long-term sustainability goals, helping businesses within the park minimise their environmental impact.

Solution

Implementing an advanced energy management system

Init collaborated closely with Fredrikstad Innovasjonspark to bring all the technical systems together and ensure optimal operational efficiency. We began by installing advanced energy meters throughout the facility, providing real-time insights into energy consumption across various areas. These meters, connected to modern PLCs, allowed for seamless monitoring and control over the park’s entire energy landscape.

Additionally, outdated heating control systems were replaced with new, advanced PLCs, giving the park’s management team unparalleled control over heating and ventilation. This upgrade improved energy efficiency, reduced energy waste, and resulted in significant long-term cost savings. The newly implemented energy management system offered Fredrikstad Innovasjonspark a comprehensive, integrated view of their energy operations.

Result

Optimized operations, and leadership in sustainability

With Init’s advanced energy management system in place, Fredrikstad Innovasjonspark now enjoys a complete and integrated approach to managing energy use across the facility. The system not only empowers the park to drive operational efficiency but also positions them as a leader in sustainability. By reducing energy waste and optimising costs, Fredrikstad Innovasjonspark continues to attract innovation-driven businesses, further enhancing its reputation as a forward-thinking business hub.
